The Blacklist

One of FBI's most wanted criminals, Raymond Reddington "Red" suddenly turns himself in, claiming that he and the FBI have the same interest of eliminating the worlds top criminals and terrorists. He will only talk to Elizabeth Keen, a young rookie FBI agent. The FBI is obviously skeptical, but gives him a chance. His first bit of information is used to locate a terrorist, and he tells them that this is the first of many criminals he will help them neutralize. Word spreads quickly in the criminal world that Reddington is giving them up, so everyone wants him dead. This action-pact thriller is only starting its second season, so you can easily catch up.

NBA 2k14

2k14 is the first game on the PS4 and Xbox One that really showcases the power of the new gaming consoles. This game has received nothing but praise for its amazing, realistic graphics. Look at the picture above. At first glance, that looks like a picture of Lebron James, the small forward for the Miami Heat. However, that is a rendering of him in the game! This is only the beginning, because we are entering an era where video games are becoming virtual reality. The future looks bright! Other aspects of the game have also been praised, such as the realistic commentary as you are playing. It seriously feels like you are watching a basketball game on television. If you have a PS4 or Xbox One, or are thinking about getting one, even if you aren't a sports fan, this game is a must.

300: Rise of an Empire

After seeing the movie 300, never in my wildest dreams would I have seen this coming. The army dies in the end of the movie, they are defeated! Most movies that have sequels set it up at the end, and you can see it coming. Definitely not this series. This is the first trailer of now three, and each trailer makes the movie look better and better. It will be in theater's March 7th, so get ready!

Lone Survior

Previous movies involving Navy Seal's, such as Captain Phillips, and Zero Dark Thirty, the Seal's mission is successful, and no one dies. You get the impression that Navy Seals are immune to failure. Lone Survivor is the first to deviate from that. Their mission is to kill a top Al Queda operative who is responsible for the murder of many American troops. However, there's problem when they stumble upon a family of Afghan shepherds, possibly from the Al Queda camp, in the surrounding woods. They are faced with a decision: kill them or let them go? The choice they make soon leads to them being pinned down taking fire, outmanned and outgunned. The brutal reality of war shines through in this film.

Flappy Bird

It disappeared just as quickly as it came to fame. For those of you who don't know what Flappy Bird is: Its an app found in the App Store or Google Play store on iPhone and Android devices. As you tap the screen, the little bird "flaps" up and down. The object of the game is to navigate the bird through Mario-like green pipes. If you hit them or the ground, the game is over. A few months ago, this simple game came out of nowhere, and climbed to the top of the charts in both stores. It's not an easy game, so it quickly became a bragging right if you could get very far. Now, out of the blue, the Vietnamese-based creator pulled the game from both stores, cutting everyone off of this addictive game. His reason? He claims it's because "the game is too addictive" and "it causes stress." However, it is rumored that the creator was receiving death threats from angry players! Whatever the reason, our beloved Flappy Bird is gone forever. Unless of course, you go to http://flappybird.io/?game. You're welcome!

The Wolf of Wall Street

If you liked Leonardo Decaprio in The Great Gatsby, you will like him even more in The Wolf of Wall Street. This movie takes you on the wild ride of a big-shot wall street stock broker,  Jordan Belford (Decaprio), who is making money in unorthodox ways. While Belford reminds me of Jay Gatsby from The Great Gatsby with their luxurious lifestyles, and illegal ways of making money, Belford's story includes much more vulgar content than Gatsby's. (You've been warned!) Nonetheless, this is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.
